Weight loss continues....and a Happy New Year to You!

I suppose I owe my continued successes losing weight to the fact that I didn't socialize this holiday season. I wasn't invited to any holiday parties and that was fine by me. I was actually quite busy working and wrapping up contract work that expired on December 31st and working on new proposals for 2007. I work for myself as a freelance/independenct contractor. And, it appears I'll be able to continue to work for myself next year.

I have a nice slate of clients that include individuals, a publisher, a government contractor and non profits---big non profits. It's a relief to know that eventually money will land in my checking account.



Meantime, I went on a work related spending spree, ordering a new soundcard for my PC and more RAM. Still need to get the RAM from the manufacturer. Next step...back up more files to an external harddrive and read up on how allegedly easy it is to tinker around in your computer's tower.

I've never fooled around with the guts of my computer. But, I've watched as others have fooled around with the guts of computers. The confidence to mess around with something that seems to hold onto so much information and do so much at the same time is...well, a little unnerving. But, as my husband says about all sorts of situations, "People who are clearly idiots do (insert daunting task here)everyday. We can handle this too."
