I've been busy with projects, family visits to our area, and the feeling that whatever I might write on this blog will be woefully mundane and not really say much.
Since my last musings:
Israel and Lebanon have entered a cease fire.
The U.S. has yet to be hit by a major hurricane.
My region of the U.S. has been in a sort of drought--typical August weather of scorching sun, smoggy days, followed by days of partly cloudy skies, less humid air, and still not a decent rain fall to green up the grass.
The house finches are thriving, as are the squirrels, chipmonks, and rabbits in my flower garden.
Gasoline prices have dipped closer to the $3.17/gl mark and that's good!
I've been encouraged to take a CPR and First Aid class at my local chapter of the American Red Cross.
I've discovered that I'm allergic to a type of liquid soap that you can buy at a fancy soap store at my local mall.
See what I mean?
The only bright spot since my last posting is that I continue to be in love with the most awesome Black Labrador Retriever. He's the third of my three dogs, a certified assistance animal that is partnered with my husband, who is disabled and uses a wheelchair. This dog is an angel of an animal.
If you are curious about the program that trained this fella,
www.caninecompanions.org is where you'll find all the information you'll need!

Garnet is a beautiful dog, but somehow I thought, with a name like that, he'd be red.
Do you know how/why CCI picked the name?
-Bflo guy
Garnet was named for Garnet Hill, a clothing manufacturer in New Hampshire that donated money to Canine Companions for Independence.
He's the Fourth Garnet in CCI history.
