Counting down to Election Day USA--upgrading my husbands Macs...Sunny Autmn Days...musings.

Dear blog readers, from across the pond, and here in my country, America.
Gosh. It's been awhile. I just haven't felt comfortable taking the time to sit down, and write.

I must confess, I'm using my husbands iBook and it's working so well. I actually opened this baby up and put in a RAM chip. And, I installed more ram in his iMac--just as my laptop refuses to boot up, probably, because its been overheating. But, still, I'm feeling very good about my handy work tonight.

So, I'm tapping this out on a lovely notebook computer that's being very responsive to every touch my fingers make on this cute little keyboard.

Ok! We're going to have a new President in America soon. Change is going to happen. It might be McCain/Pail or Obama/Biden. OK. To my neighbors going past my house it'll be no surprise. I'm voting Obama/Biden. I've got a sign on my front lawn. I've got my reasons. I won't bore you with them.

But, I'll tell you what -- You vote for whomever you want to vote. G-d bless. Just vote! It'll be different come January 21st. New people will get government appointed jobs. New people will be in a position to hear me pitch myself. "Hey! Hire me! I'm good!"

But, until then, I am helping with GOTV efforts. That's Get Out the Vote efforts for the uninitiated.

To all Americans reading this---get out and vote. Be part of what will be historic voter turnout in the most amazing republic this world has ever seen, in the most amazing times we'll ever be able to experience. Write about waiting in lines and waiting up all night, watching which states went to which guy. (ahem...I'm hoping most will go to "that guy!") Vote. Vote for your ticket. I'll vote for mine. But, vote.

Vote because we've seen those who were exposed to the sins of tyrants, stain their fingers with ink, displaying proof that they cast a single ballot. Vote because ancestors of some of us were told they had no right to, for whatever religious, or racial reasons. Vote because women marched and protested and worked their bloomers dirty working for the right to be counted. So, be counted. Check your ballot twice before you hit enter, but vote.

Vote because we can and need to show the world that Americans care enough about influencing who will be the chief executive over our government and not just meddling into their affairs.

Vote because we need to start to mend our reputation as America and Americans around the globe. Now more than ever, we need the rest of the world to support us, financially and morally.

Vote---because the race is so close, it's going to be so cool seeing how your vote, my vote, and the votes of our friends and family add up and how it all turns out. This is one game of life that's going to be so exciting and have such incredible impact.

Vote.
